Oh, I don't think S2 is darker at all. It just doesn't have nearly as many jokes. The comedy is built more around the character of Kenny, instead of actual punchlines. It ain't bad, but there's a big dropoff in quality between the two seasons.

Oh, he probably did all that decades ago and got bored with it. That's possible, you know.
