Perkus Tooth is a fictional character from Lethem's novel Chronic City. In the novel, Tooth is a writer who holds some od works, including writing some liner notes for some fake Criterion titles. Tooth and the main character meet because they both write for Criterion.

A shame, because this is truly a great album. I love Here We Go Magic. Specially when they sound a little like The Feelies (E.g. 'Make Up Your Mind')

Apropos Certified Copy: Criterion just posted a hint to tomorrow's announcement for May's releases on their Facebook page, and if I'm not mistaken, the still looks like the stairs at the beginning of… wait for it… Certified Copy!

I think the whole Criterion debacle happened because during that same blog announcement, they also pointed out that they wouldn't be releasing Certified Copy, despite having the rights to do so, because they found it a "minor work" or "minor Kiarostami" or something. I think that was what sparked the backlash against
