    A post that isn't a hair question
I've missed being able to talk about BSG on the boards here, so yay for this interview.

    Very, very funny
As one of those casual fans wondering how they could possibly make a decent ATHF movie, I ended up laughing way too hard to pay any real attention to its flaws. Yeah, it's feather-light, and the humor dries up a little toward the possibly-too-abrupt end, but rarely am I that entertained by a movie.

    Great piece
Given how funny he thought they were, I really like that it was a fall that killed him. It's like even his death had to bow down to the strength of his person.

    With Steve on this
What with HBO's Midas touch, I've tried watching Entourage a number of times, but always find I sympathize with zero of the characters (who don't even have the common courtesy to be weird or compelling instead), there's no gut-level drama, and Jeremy Piven's the only one who's even occasionally

    Yeah..
..but now they probably won't make Machete.

    Awesomely bad
The best utterly atrocious movies I've ever seen: Rock and Roll Zombies, Robot Holocaust, Robot Ninja. They're all total B movies, so that's not really fair, but man are they all ridiculous. Kung Fu Zombie, that's another "good" one.

    Return of the Living Dead
Well, anyone with taste likes that one unironically! Other than Romero weirdness, it's one of the first zombie movies I can remember being funny.

    Actually
What Tarantino did with Kurt Russell's character was a pretty fresh turn, and added a lot to Death Proof.

    Missing reels
Honestly, Rodriguez's entry was a pretty great zombie movie. It was like what Return of the Living Dead would have been if it were even funnier and gorier and less '80sish. If anything, it moved just a little too fast.

    Dick
    Also Total Recall.

    Wow
I mean this in a good way, but what a weird talent. This interview gives me the impression his books are of the love-them-or-hate-them variety. I'll have to see about picking one up.

    The book
Not sure where people are getting the idea the book doesn't have fascist elements. The requirement for voting in their society, as laid out and defended by Lt. Rasczak, is military service. If you think about voting trends among members of the armed service and the probable gap that would result between

Being compared to Giamatti is an insult?
Sure, that character's a bit of an ass, but if I were ever compared to him I'd be chugging a celebratory spitbucket in no time.

    Serials
House has had serial elements from the first season, really. Any lasting impact those stories have on the characters is admittedly minimal, but they have resulted in some interesting time spent on the nature of addiction, among other things. They're secondary to House insulting people while working toward

    30 Helens Agree
Pretty great work so far from this guy.

    Wow
The research necessary for a feature like this is truly inspiring. I hope you have Netflix and didn't have to rent all those in person.

    Tim Roth
His overacting in this and Reservoir Dogs should be an executable crime. Reservoir Dogs was good enough where I was largely able to ignore it (plus he spent much of the movie dying, so that was nice), but Four Rooms was never exactly gripping enough to make me forget I'd soon be seeing more of his sniveling.

    Quantum Leap
Did they change the opening after the first season? My season 1 DVDs open with Scott Bakula doing a doofy voiceover that always makes me roll my eyes, and this despite my embarrassing man-crush on him.

    Similar themes
For anyone interested in all the same homoerotic over- and undertones and the hacky involvement with witchcraft, I recommend Voodoo Academy. Bonus: visible boom mikes.

    Why Thermopylae?
But rhetorical questions are supposed to point to clear answers. Thermopylae may be a particularly good example of west vs. east (and those elements are definitely exploited in the movie and probably the comic), but it's also pretty much the perfect war story. How do you argue the politics are more
