Team Jenkins up with anyone and you've got gold baby, gold. Killing Them Softly was a disappointment overall, but his scenes with Pitt are awesome, even though there's not really much more going on with them than the rest of the film. The reason is because Jenkins just has great chemistry with everyone.

I have a feeling that Django is going to tackle the issue of race head on in an…interesting…manner.

Yeah, I don't know about that. I'm sure that's part of the equation, but when you add it along with everything else it creates an almost undeniable queer vibe. I don't mean that as a finger pointing, 'fuck Tyler Perry he's a closeted homo!' way. The queer aesthetic is one of the more interesting aspects of him to me.

Goddamn you for getting my hopes up about a Killer of Sheep Criterion. That is a great fucking movie.

Eh, I don't know @avclub-70f6dcc28ef8fc282b0c969e75d9bdfc:disqus , I think in this case there's a strong amount of evidence based solely on his art. I know we're not supposed to judge an artist by his art, but sometimes shit is just out there in the open. It's not a coincidence that many of Woody Allen's films feature

There's a factor involved with Tyler Perry's movies that no one has addressed yet: how bugfuck insane they are.The man has no regard for tonal consistency or standard plot beats. That immediately makes him more interesting than the examples listed of Adam Sandler and his ilk. Perry might recycle his own tropes, but

That's what makes Dogville such a stunning work of art: it gives you such a visceral satisfaction at something that is objectively horrifying. Few other movies can make that claim. I always said that Dancer In The Dark is like getting kicked in the stomach until you can take no more, whereas Dogville is like kicking
