Yeah, the Disney stuff is pretty stale, except for the Jack Kinney-directed Goofy shorts and the Jack Hannah-directed Donald shorts, and even they are pretty surface-level - like what the guy was talking about with early Chuck Jones films. Just gags without a lot of thought behind them (although I always liked the

Sounds a lot better than a C minus. Personally, I think a child actor memoir that takes a rational point of view to all that weirdness is worth reading. If there's nothing to dish then why dish?

I sorta thought they recorded a version of Abbey Road, made one copy and decided to auction it off for 18k.

I clicked and I got what I deserved. Yikes, AV Club.

Started reading this, got as far as C, declined to read further (Bungalow Bill is not only my least favorite Beatles song - it's right up there with "Sugar Shack" and free love on my list of least favorite 60's things)

It seemed there was a real burnout in his last year-or-so at the site. Or maybe I was burned out by the man. Either way, I really liked his writing for a long time, and I'm glad to have him back around (albeit in limited capacity).

Nabin's back! I was so happy to see him leave, and now I'm just as happy to have him back!

Yeah, at least that story has a Jesus freak conversion.

Amanda Plummer as Veronica Lake in Flesh Feast would be…well…I…must…make…this…movie…

Fearless is beautiful, and exactly why Peter Weir shouldn't be on this list. The plane crash scenes really remind me of The Last Wave, especially.

And Korean.

It's my absolute favorite of theirs. This is not my power hour!

Girl, I'm Gonna Miss this thread.

Absolutely.
I went to college in Plainsong country, so not only did we have to read it for a class, but we also had Haruf to our school for a seminar. All this was very exciting, until we read the thing.

WAIT!!! WHAT OF MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE!!!

Yeah, Liberty Valance gets a lot of credit considering it's Ford's last western that looks the part (i.e. John Wayne), but the movie has a lot of flaws.

Pardon me?

Somebody could do something really interesting with that Britt pitch - that's all I'm sayin'.

Rabin really lost it in his final year-or-so at the AVClub, going from everybody's favorite to the guy you knew to avoid. Just an incredible lack-of-substance to everything in that final year. I was sorta pleased when he left (and I haven't checked out the other site, so I don't know if he's rebounded).

my favorite line when I was a kid…"I'd find a pooosycat an' BASH HIS HEAD!!"
