If you're dying of a terminal illness you would probably OD on pills or something, because you're usually doing it out of respect for your family and friends who you wouldn't want dealing with your last days.

That article doesn't even consider Gilbert Gottfried, who I think is the ultimate example of a guy who was completely lost on SNL, but found success in quite a big way later on.

I said this somewhere above, but the Kinks performance of "Destroyer" was pretty amazing to 11-year old me.

I was about 11 when I caught 80-81 in syndication; the first time I had ever seen Captain Beefheart (I was pretty much blown away) and I absolutely loved The Kinks doing "Destroyer" (featuring Ray Davies in, from what I remember, a very Lola-esque outfit).

I don't hate Chase (funny in Caddyshack and the Vacation movies for starters) but he is pretty much the most unwatchable part of early SNL (maybe Garrett Morris constantly flubbing his lines in a haze of marijuana smoke; yeah, actually it's probably Garrett Morris). Chase had two gears; smug and confused/dopey, and…

I just watched it and it's not too bad. McDowell and whoever's playing Yoko do a really great job (I actually really liked her growl as she pointed out that John's cake was burning). And personally, Double Fantasy could use a few more oven cleaning tips.

The first Robyn Hitchcock I ever listened to was Perspex Island. There's a reason it took me about a decade to listen to another one.
The White Album!!! Aside from "Bungalow Bill" there is not one song I would remove from that record.
Oh, you need to hear It's Hard; that would make you change your tune on Quadrophenia (which I'll agree with you as far as it's a real slog to get through, but it has some absolutely breathtaking songs once you get to 'em).
I said this in the reply to Mr. Fishlips, but "Anywhere is Better Than Here" is really the only song I'd save from the official release of Don't Tell a Soul. I actually would've placed it at the beginning of the album instead of "Talent Show," which is probably my least favorite 'Mats track. You're right though…

Nope. Sorry. I'll give you Don't Tell a Soul (although the scream and the song "Anywhere is Better Than Here" deserve a much better album), but All Shook Down is great. It's not really a Replacements album (let alone even in the same time zone as the best legit Replacements albums), but it's far and away the best…

A good ol' Test Pattern, which is so hard to find these days!
