Given Scott McCloud's appearance on the list, I'm surprised that his year-long stint on "Superman Adventures" doesn't get a mention. It's quite good, IMO even better than the more-acclaimed Mark Millar run that followed. (Though perhaps it helps that McCloud had a better artist in Rick Burchett.)
