The second season of the Sopranos might be my least favorite overall, but this may be the best season finale they ever did.

I'm not sure anything will top Pine Barrens for shear entertainment, but I think the finale is actually my favorite.

Counterpoint: I still haven't emotionally recovered from the montage at the end of season 4 of The Wire.

Carmela is the real bad ass and we all know it (seriously Carmela Soprano is possibly my favorite television character).

What I love about this montage is how it doesn't go for the usual cathartic resolution to the season. Even the Wire montages would give you some sense of catharsis, Baltimore was still Baltimore but there was usually a happy ending for someone. The one at the end of Funhouse just haunts you. It denies real resolution…
