I'm giving this a season at least. TV SCI-FI is having a roguh go of it at the moment so I'll give everything I'm the genre a chance if it has the potential to be at least above average.

Ugh The Patriot. One of two Mel Gibson movies every history teacher is required to show at some point. The other being Braveheart. So then we can all learn that the English are evil evil people, and anyone who fought against them were absolutely perfect in every way.

Everytime my band director was absent we would watch the first 45 minutes of "Drumline"….I have seen the first half of that movie way to many times.

We had a sci-fi literature class which was originally taught by an awesome teacher who had a passion for the class. I finally was able to fit it into my schedule second semester junior year but the teacher had to retire do to health reasons halfway through the year. So they just gave it to a fresh out of college

The 1968 Romeo and Juliet of course as well as the Kenneth Branagh Henry V and Hamlet. When in doubt English teachers will throw any old Shakespeare adaptation because it's "educational" enough. I had a history teacher that would basically let us watch anything the last two weeks of school and we managed to convince

You know a movie is complicated when Memento is the simple alternative.

McGinley also means this show gets a season at least from me too. I know most people got sick of it but I always loved his Dr. Cox shtick

Yeah, I always have enjoyed the irony of that. I could never enjoy Clarke's novelization because it so blatantly explains everything that's going on. I don't think anyone would try and argue that he should be the definitive creative voice when it comes to 2001..

Its not just the numbers themselves, its also the consistency of the ratings. Parks and Rec consistently pulls in those numbers, whereas ¡Rob! experienced massive droppoffs.

Gotcha, I don't know why but that element just never worked for me. Still an excellent film though. Definitely one of my favorites, I would just rank UC slightly higher overall.

I found the relationship between the two to be the weakest element of the film overall. While that scene surely is effective, it doesn't stick with me the way that the images of Kris and Jeff huddled in the bathtub does, or the when the Sampler throws the piglets into the river. There is emotion in primer, but nothing

Well yes his economic costs are much higher but in terms of actual money spent the cost is ridiculously low. Especially when you consider that he used film and not digital recording.

This movie reminds move of what Clarke said about 2001: "If you understand everything in 2001 we didn't do our jobs right"

I just took it as them trying to directly interfere with the lives of others? They knew they could affect the stocks and this was a logical(haha) next step. They knew how the events unfolded in previous time lines and wanted to see how/if they could change them and what consequences there would be.

I thought UC was much more emotionally complex though. Primer is a very cold SciFi fare which I love. I just find that UC sticks with me more

Thats a good summary of my response. Every time I think I actually have this movie parsed it throws something else at me.

Unless you're lucky enough to get a cushy tenured position at a University. I do feel like that in my one year spent actually working in archaelogy my diet consisted of 90% Ramen, 10% Kraft Mac and cheese.

You seem to be a smart man which means you have studied. In your studies you must have learned that ratings determine the fate of tv shows and would have put this show in the timeslot furthest away from you, so clearly I cannot choose the timeslot in front of me!

I mean… Um, we go on wonderful adventures, fight nazis, and find the holy grail. Little known fact, the Indiana Jones movies are actually documentaries.

And he regenerated into that other guy!
