The fact that you managed to get 1200 words out of some of those Season 4 episodes still impresses the hell out of me.
By invoking the word Andre you just caused me to flash back to freshman year of college….
Thank you Linus
Last season was rather stale with a couple of gems. Generally, watch the episodes that got a B+ or better and then just move on to this season and you should be fine.
Seriously guys, Breaking Bad would have wanted you to move on and find a new show. One that makes you happy and satisfies you on both a visceral and intellectual level. I hope you find that show AV Club, just don't jump on the first show that presents itself, it could be another Low Winter Sun.
I think originally I thought Mike and Jesse had overthrown him and he was coming back to reclaim his kingdom?…
Yeah, I guess I definitely understand where you both are coming from on this. Who knows, I may have wound up liking a "everyone dies" ending. I honestly believe that I would have loved anything that Gilligan and co. could have cooked up. I just have a personal aversion to those type of endings.
How long until there is a youtube video of the machine gun scene dubbed over with "Rains of Castemere"?
Minerals, Jesus Christ Tecumseh.
I honestly can't stand "everyone dies" endings. They're too easy and simple and so obviously "shocking" that it would have be the least shocking thing this show could have done. The only person that could consistently pull of "everyone dies" endings was probably the Bard himself, and even he went back to that well too…
I think thats kind of the tragic irony (for the viewer at least) of the last scene (with the beautiful juxtaposition of Baby Blue). Walt didn't get what he deserved. He deserved so much worse than this but he managed to get exactly what he wanted.
The answer to "What will the AV Club blog about when Breaking Bad ends?" is unsurprisingly… more Breaking Bad.
That's Heisenberg quality!
I pretty much read reviews of shows like this just to watch the reviewer slowly descend into madness. See also: Steve Heisler's Heroes reviews and David Sims' on The Following.
You know someone is a terrible person when a large amount of the fandom counts him saying "Yeah, I'm a terrible person" as a redemptive moment.
very well shot.
Fan service meaning giving fans things they enjoy is fine. The only problem is when that fan service is made up of pointless references or catch phrases. If Walter had yelled at somebody for knocking on the door and said "No, I am the one who knocks" Or if Jack had been like "You're in really danger here" only for…
The Nazis were fond of Todd
I hope this shows up somewhere near the top.
Thank you so much Donna for your wonderful reviews. They were always one of the highlights of the AV Club. I may miss them as much as I miss the show itself.
