If this movie is faithful to the series, it will be 30% "plot," 20% Hasselholf fixing his hair, and 50% stock footage of the car driving throughout various California backroads and parking lots.

Probably also with a side of ham.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it "subtext." It's more like blatant blink-tag like text meant to appeal to short attention spans.
*waits a beat*
If there is one thing that I expect, nay demand, from super hero action movies is SCIENTIFIC ACCURACY. I say, good day to you, Hollywood!
That would allow us to explore said comedic angle in the director's true artistic vision before ruling this movie as "reviled."
I see this movie making dollar at the theatre.
I loved that "HER?" was spelled above their heads at their wedding. I need to rewatch the church scene since I think it was spelling "FATHER," but it make me smile.
@avclub-ba4d8e328d2774df0803ee31f13de4ed:disqus double-liked for the Futurama reference!
I think it was more Atticus Finch than anything else.
That may be true, but man, that's an unfortunate name.
Dammit, don't use "facts" to try to mitigate my rage over the loss of those shows!
Wait, "Happy Endings" and "Don't Trust the B" got axed in favor a show called fucking "Shark Tank"!?! What the what, ABC?
@avclub-1f967b867678c0403c7a402b8d84ab09:disqus I never discount Friends as a bad show. I watched it from its onset in 1994 when NBC was the only channel I got in college to its end, save for some in the middle where I lost interest. I think we're comparing a 10 year run show against a 3 year one, and that probably…
No-Ho-Ho, easily. I have watched that over and over and still find it hilarious since every character attribute was dialed to 10, but not 11 just for the sake of being really, really loud.
I actually really didn't like that she was the sister and not some cousin or other relation that Jane/Alex could have been close to. Not having Jane as the alpha sister in the family just undermined the character on a lot of levels, even though we did get some great meta humor at the top of the episode regarding…
Agreed. Look at how little character growth really happened on shows like Friends over the first few seasons. Other than the Ross and Rachel "will they or won't they," can you honestly say that there was really a lot of character change?
@avclub-9acf7344ec50993b012999f76196c4c6:disqus I can't like that enough.
Sometimes I read these articles just for the word-of-the-day factor. I learned things about gorm! And Daleks!
I wish my cat would drop a mic in defiance rather than poop on the floor.
