There's something unnerving, though, about Billy. He's always been unhinged and that's why the photography session threw me for a loop. I kinda felt a little threatened seeing him unmask himself. I guess the look in his eyes as he tried to cut Brenda just scared me enough to be mindful of his presence.

Poor Xander. He really is my favorite character on Buffy…I feel like Whedon at least called attention to the awkward, direction-less Xander. But still, I woulda loved seeing him do something more.

I feel like, though the series is not perfect, I'm pretty much certain the women are so deftly portrayed that I might not always like the plot choices, the characters and phrases and tones still come to mind once in a while. Oy, is it tough to hate Griffith's Brenda, however unenviable she was and became.

Ah man, Ruth singing along to Joni Mitchell was interesting because of the contrasts between the public persona of Mitchell (and Ruth's sister) and Ruth's tight hold on her emotions. Mitchell's music is self-expression and exposition (at least the choice of Woodstock and Blue period Mitchell), whilst Ruth is not. Yet,…

I loved Noel Murray's writeups, but it'd be fun to delve into adolescence a little further.

Okay, okay calm down, it was just a bird, you don't control the birds, you will someday but not today.

I have a few favorite Buffy episodes: "Hush", "Once More, With Feeling", "I Only Have Eyes For You", etc. But my favorite Buffy episode to have a good recap is "The Zeppo". From an adolescent-focused roundtable, it's prett funny and all about the slippery notion of cool. Plus, it's Nicholas Brendon.
