@avclub-b7784c8bc13cfa7214f249fef97abfe9:disqus i think the scarface stuff is *almost* a red herring - the small fry's rise to power and subsequent crumbling due to isolation and deceit has it's parallels to walt's story, sort of, but i dont think an analogous big machinegun battle climax is in the cards. the whole

@avclub-b7784c8bc13cfa7214f249fef97abfe9:disqus oh, i don't know if the ending will be obvious, but i think it'd be far more disappointing if this story ended by pulling some sort of full circle redemption crap. i wouldn't call making a specific story about a specific thing and then following through with that vision

yeah, it's a sad state when entertainment weekly is providing a far more insightful, thoughtful and thorough recap. i agree a lot of the comments point out interesting stuff but the article itself doesn't offer much beyond what we all just watched on the screen.

the whole (or at least, the biggest) point of the show is walt's transformation in to a bad guy. that's why it's called 'breaking bad'.

first off, i did not find this to be a slight episode in the least. probably my favorite episode of the season so far, it had a great balance of floating interesting ideas and delivering jokes.

yeah that sort of annoyed me. he's playing himself, it shouldn't be surprising to anyone, let alone a pop culture critic, that he's not hamming it up. i thought we'd all seen world's greatest dad and listened to his wtf episode by now.

here's the thing, though: this comment section is the perfect place to express an alternate opinion to the one in the article. it should be obvious and taken as a given that a comment (whether it's about the reviewer's opinion or whatever) is an opinion in and of itself. maybe you'd have liked it if wwynd had put "i

i'm afraid saying this will blow o'neal's fragile mind, but i liked prometheus and i think a different writer for the sequel will be a good thing.

"teaching him how to really be alive" wasn't the point, more "forcing him to live differently then he usually lets himself".
