My favourite Murakami, by a considerable distance, is Wild Sheep Chase.  I seem to be in a minority on this?  I really really love that book, and I liked Hard-boiled Wonderland a fair bit, but I'm lukewarm about the rest of his stuff.  Dance Dance Dance was unreadable for me, Wind-Up Bird Chronicle was great in parts…

I don't ask a lot out of kids' shows.  I mean, they're not for me, even if I'm sometimes stuck watching or half-watching them.  But Charlie and Lola or Shaun the Sheep, those are shows.  Low-key pacing, charming animation, simple funny stories = good.
