I inferred that that was a responsibility reserved for whoever struck the killing blow (who'd conveniently just died). I may be misinterpreting things.

It's open to interpretation, but Dax's hesitation at the end always read to me not as a reluctance to kill, but as a reluctance to follow through to the promised conclusion of feasting on the Albino's heart.

Not many people know that if you watch Blood Oath while listening to Der Ring des Nibelung, the audio and video sync up. The only problem is that you have to watch the episode 20 times.

Firefly's exterior space shots spoiled me with their beautiful, exclusively nondiegetic scoring. Now, I always get distracted (and a little insulted!) when a sci-fi show has sound effects in space. It turns out we don't need those sound effects. All we need is an orchestra.

I still haven't found your last challenge room in Arkham City. If I concede defeat, will you just let the last hostage go?
I think he's pronouncing it like an actual first name, last name: "Star Burns," like "Mike Jones".
It's funny. The death itself had no effect on me, but as the season wound down, and Fred stayed dead, I experienced the slowly dawning realization that she was really not coming back. By the time we got to "Would you like me to lie to you now?", I was a wreck.
The writing didn't work for me, at least when it was trying to be dramatic but ended up feeling overwrought. But the caveman vs. astronaut gag was gold.
Hate to say it, but Fred’s death had zero emotional impact on me. I’m not coldhearted—I’m one of those sentimental saps who will rewatch sad scenes specifically because they make me cry. But this time, nothing.
Maybe in a sequel to the haunted house episode referenced in "Paradigms".
