Yeah, I always warn people who I'm trying to get into Parks and Rec by saying "Just power through Season 1! It gets better, I promise!" And then they start watching Season 1 and are pleasantly surprised that it's not as shitty as I said it was, and they get hooked and watch the whole thing.

I'm kinda angry about this because I literally have material from when I was in fifth grade detailing a whole series of books I wanted to write around basically this theme. Red-Riding-Hood, Wolf-Slayer, Hansel and Gretel as witch hunters, etc. 
And now apparently that's a viable option. SIGH.
