Well, no, because I think that one single Uncanny panel looks perfectly fine, but 5 dudes just standing there isn't really playing to Bachalo's strength, especially considering the cool layout stuff he's doing in this book.

Yeah they are sticking around.
I think it started in Astonishing, with the reveal that Xavier had known about Danger, but if not then the rift was certainly in place by the start of Brubaker's run, with the Vulcan stuff.
All New is incredible though
well it was a dramatic last page reveal, so it's hard to say just yet. He certainly seems bitter about Scott gimping his powers, but the breaking Scott out of prison stuff can kinda be explained away from his statement to Hill in this issue that killing him is the worst possible solution, as that will only make him a…
He was possessed by the Phoenix and out of control
While I am in love with the X-Men line at the moment, I don't think the current golden age of X-Books is particularly new. It started 18 months ago with the launch of Wolverine and the X-Men and Gillen's Uncanny.
Bachalo's work in Uncanny really shines in the huge diagonally panelled double page spreads which it's not really feasible for Oliver to post here.
I saw a lot of people complaining about what an anti-climax it was that no one died, right on the heels of a full month of people full on freaking out and pre-bitching about Alfred potentially dying.
Unlike The Walking Dead, the source material for this potential show is fantastic.
retconing away Xorn was absolutely the right decision. Morrison does not understand Magneto in the least and basically assassinated one of the best characters in Marvel's stable.
Hickman added it, cause this is a brand new version of Hyperion.
All New X-Men is one of the best looking books on the stands. The colors are gorgeous and Immomen is doing the best art of his life. (That Jean Grey spread from a few issues ago is so goddamned pretty)
Brubaker left a million years ago because Marvel offered him his dream job (Captain America)
@avclub-638c1a4f003b46aad4aa5cf3f424d215:disqus I think the fact that the Illuminati is exclusionary in nature is part of the theme of the book. Hickman has referred to them more than once as the "old boys club of the Marvel Universe" in interviews. It's not okay that these men are doing what they are doing.
I think for the foreseeable future Cap is simply out of the book, but there's obviously no way what happaned won't come up again, but with Hickman that could be 2 years in the future.
My very favorite thing about this issue in a long series of favorite things. (Beast has been my favorite superhero since I was 8 years old) is the fact that the Cap mindwipe drastically changes the tone of the first issue of Avengers original flavor.
I love Uncanny Avengers so far, but it admittedly is basically Remender riffing on 80's Claremont (those captions!) which is a thing I basically genetically inclined to enjoy, but I can see how some people don't have that itch to be scratched.
Uncanny Avengers has been slow because of art delays, Cassaday is notoriously slow and he's being replaced by Daniel Acuna in a few issues.
