MYST! Still the best. Did anyone else here Kickstart the 25th Anniversary box set that was a Myst Book with a working screen? It’s pretty cool.

Why “anxiety”? Because they’ve been told they have it all their short lives and are still being medicated for it.
I think this was an important aspect, that one could be happy “playing” the game by just wandering around without knowing the objectives. The fact that there was no time limit, and very few elements that relied on timing (that damn tree elevator) made for a relaxing experience that I still boot up from time to time.
Well, this is a fascinating thread. If I’d had any idea I was ruining computer gaming back when I was having MYST dreams in 1993, I would have tried harder, given the culture that eventually emerged.
Plaza is astounding in Hal Hartley’s NED RIFLE, if you can find it.
Also, raiding the Paramount music library is a longstanding Trek tradition.
Goddammit, I want live-action Patton Oswalt with little arms and legs glued to his face and a rocket on his chin. Is that too much to ask? Why did I even get out of bed today

I guess SUPERGIRL...
My vote for #1:
Baywatch is standard.
“What the HERE is going on?”
Here’s a contemporary NYT article that covers some of the production issues:
The funny thing about DEEPSTAR SIX and LEVIATHAN is that they were made in an attempt to beat THE ABYSS into theatres, on the post-ALIENS assumption that Cameron’s undersea thriller would be a monster movie.
Yes, their hand-to-hand prowess was bracing.
The thing is, it’s really impossible to discuss a show like this on an episode-by-episode basis when it all drops at once. Even when a site like AVC staggers the reviews, the conversation loses focus and the spoiler-averse give up.
Let’s be honest— Return (aka Revenge) of the Jedi was clearly written in panic mode too.
