I think the goal of trying to make tunnels cheaper is still valid. I don’t think anyone can disagree that there just isn’t room for more roads and more intersections in many places. It’s kinda cool, if I’m understanding it correctly. They ejected the stack with a slight spin, and counterweighted each of the satellites a little differently, so they’d fan out as they drift apart. Then they can start thrusting toward their orbits without colliding with each other.

Its unbelievable how these insanely simple safety features can save lives and prevent a person and car from getting mutilated. Its the same with rear crash guards. Having a rear crash guard with slightly wider and spaced out braces made the difference between life and death in crash tests.

Let’s use press hype as an opportunity to push for mandating side underrail guards on semi trailers. Teslas aren’t the only types of cars that crash into semi trucks. A properly equipped semi trailer could have easily turned this from a fatality into something the driver could’ve walked away from.
