still not good enough, it would end up in the ocean.
still not good enough, it would end up in the ocean.
Musk tweeted there was essentially a sticky valve for throttling the engine that caused the gimballing of the engine and the throttling to get slightly out of sync, and that’s why it deviated so much at the end and missed. He seems confident once that’s fixed, they’ve got it.
The pole stayed upright the whole time…
parachute isn’t useful when it’s coming in supersonic through the atmosphere, that’s why they use the engines to slow it down during entry. As for why not chutes after that? Simple answer, you can’t aim a parachute, it would end up in the ocean and that defeats the whole purpose. Too big to pluck out of the sky with a…
Watch their launch videos, half the shots of it have the legs off. They may say you shouldn’t, but they clearly did. Automatic yaw is okay and all, but it’s not smooth by any means, they saw this and decided to turn it off and remove the legs for their release footage is my guess.
#1: runs via wifi for all connection-lag city, range issue city.
and this is why you STAY ON THE BLOODY RACE LINE.
So instead of the wheel breaking, now there’s a hinge to break as well. Oh and you lose space inside your suitcase on all 4 bottom corners.
pass, never once had a wheel come off a good suitcase.
would it kill you to take/post more than one awkward photo OF THE WHOLE BLOODY CAR?! I feel like i’m taking crazy pills.
It was built as a show piece, for that purpose, it's not a piece of shit one bit. It wasn't designed to go off road, it was designed to sell their bumpers.
Stock struts and springs, that's all they meant.
It is re-geared, they talk about it in the video. Everything else power wise though is bone stock.
No thanks, already have one :-) and it's currently getting a 475HP LS :D
....wtf are you talking about? I'm saying the hub motors don't have nearly as much torque as standard brushless motors due to their design. The boostedboard has two, 1000watt brushless motors belt driving the wheels, which also provides gearing for additional torque. They can cruse at 20mph up just about as steep of…
Way to miss the single most common repair in all 13" macbook pros (non-retina)
the harddrive ribbon cable
those motors are MUCH more powerful than hub motors. Brushless, yes, but hubmotors are less powerful. Notice the kickstarter doesn't state the wattage of the motors, nor any hill climbing ability of the board. If they're casually hiding it, that usually means it's not up to the spec of the competition (boostedboards…
it's actually only two motors in the back, not even 4.
It won't be able to go up hill worth a damn. There's no way the motors have enough torque.
That board also won't have any flex looking at the design.
All together, the boostedboard is still far, far superior it seems. Only thing this really has going for it is swappable batteries, and a bit more milage, but that…
Ah yes, but will it blend? You're missing the important questions!
Here's the thing, why would anyone buy a laptop right now with Broadwell/Skylake dropping this year? WAIT!
It's a blast. Went as modern as possible on the brakes and suspension, cut the trans tunnel and wedged in a Richmond 6 speed transmission and a racing clutch(forget which), it idles at about 80mph now in 6th :-P actually gets incredible gas milage. Did the usual filter pods on the carbs. We've actually got performance…
