The current thunderbolt 2 can't drive 5K, it just can't. That would take displayport 1.3 which was just announced last month. The current thunderbolt 2 runs displayport 1.2

Never, there are TONS of 3rd party stands and mounts for the imac and apple loves them and even sells some on the apple store website. It's absolutely vital that the imac itself be completely self contained with the ability to detach the stand.

There's no other 5K display on the market and dell's announced one will be $2500. Apple's price point on this is insane and i'm sure there are a lot of pissed off people high up at dell right now. Now all apple needs to announce is that target display mode will work with windows...man that would be sick.

I disagree, the specs they showed will handle it, it won't be pro level speeds but those folks are running full desktop based systems anyways and will never be converted to an imac. This is awesome for those who want to get into 4K with the new gopro4 and the like. It'll do it but sure render speeds won't be insanely…

4K is happening if you like it or not. It's incredibly powerful for video work, allowing insane image stabilization without losing much in the way of resolution. Hell the new gopro4 shoots 30fps 4K video. There are a LOT of reasons we want 4K

Honestly, what more can tablets do with current technology other than get faster and have better battery life? Evolution not revolution is the name of the game.

WSU fan here, I honestly believe we would have scored the TD and attempted a 2point conversion for the win.

My full home manager system from 1985(installed in 1990) still works flawlessly, fully automates every I need. IMO far superior to any modern system, it just works and is easy to use. UI designed for the specific house even.

The BEAM will not be accessible to the astronauts for the vast majority of the time. It'll be inflated, pressurized hooked up all that, then sealed off. The main point is to see how it holds up to all the micro-collisions in space and that it doesn't puncture.
