On my android I can browse pages' desktop version, changing the agent. Can't you do that on the iPhone? And wouldn't that look like you are browsing that page from your desktop instead of your phone, even if you are not?

Most of the people who lose their jobs won't be musician, but agents and the like.

Also they often reduce transmit power to wireless as well, thus reducing bandwidth. You can change both settings, though.
