I like a lot of long, slow arthouse movies. JD is so aggressively unfriendly and borderline unwatchable for casuals that calling it the best movie of all time suggests a pretty clear philosophical position.  And that position is that film’s highest goal is to be almost exclusively appealing to critics and wannabes.

To paraphrase an old saying, if we could harness the kinetic energy from every film critic patting themselves on the back for making that film #1, we could power Manhattan.

While working on an assembly line ain't great fun, it beats the shit outta working in a fast food restaurant any day. Anyone who takes a job at Mickey-Ds over putting cars together has lost their damn minds.
