Yeah, the whole “the show’s gone soft” take doesn’t hold water for me. I’ve been watching it for...30 years (fuck), and in that span it’s never said anything politically in that time that went beyond the obvious/superficial.

I'm pretty sure he has the final say on all the hiring/firing, which is a pretty big deal for a show that does a lot of hiring/firing.

Re: “profit driven”, I’m pretty sure our corporate overlords are painfully aware of the fact that they’ll face a sh!storm of litigation and legislation should testing mistakes cost bystander lives.
