Cuomo reportedly went into exile after pinkerton, spending years trying to devine the perfect hit formula. He went bonkers when pinkerton failed (in the short term) and I think it basically ruined his ability to write interesting music for about a decade.

On the same “hate to be a dick” note, I really wish the world would’ve let them die after pinkerton. Beck Has always had some element of surprise, but that was never really weezer. They did power pop. One time it got sloppy, and it was glorious. But never again.

The whole “now’s not the time to talk about it” thing is starting to feel like saying “we can’t have an intervention when he’s high.” Kinda makes for an impossible situation when there are no lapses.

The metal-inclined should also be aware of the Krallice-Neurosis supergroup effort that came out last week. It’s a fairly awkward pairing the first few minutes that becomes nothing short of amazing as it progresses and the group gels.

I’m a huge horror fan, but slashers always seemed base and unimaginative to me, save for ~.01% of the genre.
