Re: Naomi’s mother, traditionally there’s nothing white Southerners fear more than looking poor, because that means they’re no better than Negroes.

We age super well. There’s that. Oh, and we’re like, naturally cool and creative, as evidenced by most of American culture being based off of stuff we make up. Every type of American music style, for instance.

we airbnb to POC - had major problems with Koreans - left the place a fucking pig stye - our black guests were awesome - I think the difference was the blacks were from the USA whereas the Koreans - 2 guesses where they came from...

Lena Dunham is the first person I think of when I think about women who hate other women. Her loud and proud paternalistic anti-sex work stance (all sex work is bad; trafficking and sex work are the same, etc.) , her all white vision of New York and that mega racist/nationalist article about Japan are not feminist.

Madden, 36, agreed to do one day of community service after appearing in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday, and his record will be expunged in six months according to his lawyer.

So, only make areas with lots of poor people conserve, right?

Oh goody, now I can watch people water their green lawns that they planted IN THE GODDAMN DESERT. THE MOJAVE DESERT. GREEN LAWNS. THAT IS A PROBLEM.

It’s ALWAYS the overweight, unattractive men going on and on about what level of attractiveness is appropriate for women.

This was not the tone of what I said. I meant that if we get to a place where “believe all survivors” trumps “trust but verify” we’ve entered into an interestingly dark place. Also, as a person of color, I remember all the times young black men were killed, brutally, because someone believed some halfbaked breathless

Every stereotype has a grain of truth at the center. In some cases, it’s more like a boulder.

This is just a banner day for model gossip items...Cara/Gisele, you are not helping the stereotypes about models.

Getting a lot of mileage out of this gif today. Gisele, I’m looking at you.

He seems like a good-natured guy though, I thought? I mean, going back to when The Soup was making fun of him, not just based on this tweet.

If Viola Davis and Angela Basset were just starting out today they couldn’t get a job. Without Shonda Viola would still be playing a maid. There is an over representation of mixed race actresses today portraying black women on the other end of the spectrum very few mixed race black males on screen.

Beyoncé talked about “Mexican Breakfast” and Fosse (and J-Setting, not that anyone seems to care) in just about every interview related to the video. That hardly seems like claiming the work as her own (or as the work of Gatson and Knight whom she also regularly credits—the two being the actually choreographers).

Sorry for the hot take, but I have mixed feelings on the case and the idea of a movie about it in general. Yes this is hearsay, but I have family from Caroline County and just like with everything else, it’s complicated. Did Mildred and Richard grow to love each other in some capacity? Perhaps.

I’m going to get eviscerated for saying this, but here it goes:

You had to figure something was up when Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t date her.

Man you must have been a bitch in high school!

I’ve observed a lot of inconsistency on that, with some having that “sex is the physical, gender is the mental” as their definition, some using “sex” for both, some using “gender” for both...
