Not disputing anything you said simply adding to. As an F16 crew chief I’ve seen plenty of critical components with stress fractures/cracks and if repaired properly per the technical data and Lockheed engineers etc, they’re not a further issue, ie. stop drilling with possible beef up plates.

My major beef with this is that its a Chevrolet cabover...........and he used a Ram bed and flares. WHY.

A few weeks ago I witnessed a Trax’s motor go kablamo. First there was a little white smoke coming from the tailpipe, then it got worse. Then it got much worse and the smoke got a darker and filled up the entire intersection with nasty oily-coolant-metal on metal smelling thick smoke.

I agree and hope Mazda and Subaru won’t be eaten up by this rumor. Weird that no one mentioned Toyota and Subaru working together already. One of the best sports cars of this time (BRZ-FRS [rip]) resulted from that work. Also, Toyota and BMW are trying to bring back the Supra.

A coworker just had this on his Fusion. Got a service code for power steering issue and dealer found wiring harness frayed near controller, caused a short and fried controller. “Almost looks like something gnawed on the harness” the said. $2K later with a new controller and harness, he’s back on the road. Couple weeks…
