I wonder if these car's transmission gearing could have something to do with the disparity. If the turbo'd car's low gears are lower ratios than in the NA cars, then would that not also contribute to a reduction in fuel economy, but with better acceleration? Also, maybe the overdrive gears in these car's transmissions

PIT STOP!!!

I'm not a fan of the spindle grille, but the LED DRL's on the new Lexus GS (and the newest IS, IIRC) actually look quite nice.

N: The Volt's styling is what turns me sour. As a Prius V owner, I'm not shy of alternative fuel vehicles. Aside from the front clip, and especially from the side, the styling leaves a lot to be desired. Also not a big fan of the center console and shifter, but I could live with it if the exterior were cleaned up a

It's just peachy. I'm originally from Phoenix, where the freeways are significantly higher capacity due to more lanes, better carpool lane access, etc. People there at least tend to use turn signals, even when they're about to make a dick move.

Bro's and (other related asshats, who have lifted trucks and aftermarket HID's installed) who tailgate. They get way too close at night, with their HID brightness fully reflected into your eyes by your rear view mirrors. Leave some space for crying out loud, especially when your vehicle is 2x or even 3x the size of my

Most likely a 1st gen BMW X5. The taillights are the biggest clue imo. Also profile and roof rack.

It could be a mid-90s Buick LeSabre or Park Avenue. The picture I've included is (I'm pretty sure) a 1997 model.

IIRC, you are correct. GM could use the Izuzu diesel motor and tech in other platforms. But I'm more frustrated with GM making a lot of similar decisions that the old GM made. I want GM to succeed and move forward, not grab at fleeting vestiges of the past. I will say this though: diesel is definitely the way to go to

2nd: The only thing worth anything from Izuzu for is the Medium-duty cabover commercial trucks. Anything else is just Izuzu sucking the corporate teit of GM. I'm sorry GM, but this move seems a lot like you didn't learn your bankruptcy lesson....

I lived in Prescott for four years while in college; while I never did any "time-trial" stints, I did go to Sedona via Jerome a few times. Definitely a fun road to drive.

Northern Arizona. Plenty of backcountry roads, varying terrain, and wide open stretches to floor it if you feel like it. All with picturesque panorama views. Just don't go WOT on I-40 or I-17; AZ highway patrol watches the interstates like a hawk.

Yes, that looks more like it. Thank you for the clarification. I thought the HD models came in a sport package. Oh well. Definitely wanted the 2500 though. Bad ass truck.

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport Quad Cab with 5.9L Cummins 4x4 in Intense Blue Pearl. This particular model haunted my teenage years, and still occasionally haunts me today. If money was not a main factor, and I needed a truck, I would search high and wide to try to find myself an example of this vintage, with the options

I should also mention that the leaded avgas conundrum has sparked renewed interest in diesels for aircraft, which are designed to run on Jet-A fuel that the "big boy" jets and turboprops use.

@evoCS Yes, you're right about lead still being in aviation fuel for piston aircraft. The common name for it is 100LL (100 octane, Low Lead). There are several companies working on unleaded alternatives that should be cheap and feasible for the majority of the General Aviation community to switch to with minimal

Late 60's/Early 70's Dodge Challenger/Plymouth 'Cuda pair. Because American Classic Muscle Car.

Oops! I just posted my vote for the Nomad as well. Great minds think alike! Hopefully it makes the top 10!

Nomad. Not necessarily hot-rodded to death, but a restored version and a small-block v8 powertrain. Pulling up to your woman's place in a black leather jacket and Ray-Bans, driving one of these, now thats the perfect way to start off a bad-ass version of a romantic Valentines getaway.
