3 passengers in a 2 seater sports car, apparently none of them seatbelted. Absent some absurd conspiracy/serial killer level theory, every person in that car was a willing party to stupidity.
If you’re doing 150 on a city street (10x the legal limit btw) you have more things stacked against you than just a 90 degree turn which nobody has difficulty handling at the prescribed velocity.
Fascinating analysis of the road, but this still just comes down to a case of “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes”
There is never a need to go 2x the freeway speed limit on a residential boulevard. Ever.
I believe you imply that the driver assumed because a stretch of road is straight for X distance, it will remain so for a continuing distance convenient to any unsafe actions the driver wishes to engage in. This is a poor assumption to stake one’s life on.
Sure the reporting is accurate and 150 in a 15 is what it is WRT recklessness but I’m gonna say that road layout is pretty crap.
I want to know how they got 3 people in a 2021 Corvette.
Of that what? The goalie or the car? Honor or horror.
Good thing, too. If this were a Tesla, the pool would still be on fire.
It’s the hat trick of Stupid.
Or Alcohol. Or Drugs. Or Stupidity, alcohol, and drugs.
Hitting water at that speed is likely as damaging as hitting concrete.
Newer signs show your speed until about 10-15 over at which point it just says “SLOW DOWN” to prevent exactly that kinda of behavior.
Bruce Wayne and two women in a Murcielago.
*insert Jerry Falwell Jr. joke here*
“we’re never more than one bad judgement away from tragedy.”
Yeah I don’t care if you’re literally Colin McRae, that turn isn’t happening at that speed.
The exact cause of the accident is NOT unknown. It was caused by stupidity.
Their pool guy is going to be pissed.
