I have a theory that Boomers and Millennials are in a race to push Gen Xers into a murderous rage with all their bullshit.
And if you’re a woman, your work e-mail has to strike a very delicate, near-impossible balance between “friendly” and professional. Too light of a tone, and you’re not taken seriously because you’re a flighty woman. Write in a matter-of-fact way that’s similar to your male colleagues, and you’re a joyless ballbuster.…
Funny thing, but in another comment on another post, I wrote that I am not a big fan of the concept of the slippery slope, but here I am going to argue the opposite.
and people wonder why we introverts hate everyone. you all keep inventing these stupid rules and making interacting with anyone a complete chore. if somebody thinks im rude or dismissive by typing “ok” to their text and gets offended, they deserve it and they did it to themselves. as far as im concerned they are doing…
She sounds a particularly silly bint, doesn’t she? *counting to see if enough words were used to give the impression of having said that politely* Particularly when she states “As a woman, I maintain a bustling control center behind my thoughts where everything said to me is parsed for evidence of impending physical…
It goes the other way in professional environments. If you use too many exclamation marks, and are too wordy, you’ll be immediately identified as a simpering, unconfident dicksneeze. I can’t stand getting emails with the subject being: ‘Hey! Can we get together to discuss next steps? Thank you!!! :D’
A) This is one of the dumbest etiquette takes I’ve ever read. If you want to infer what I mean by my text that’s on you. If you are seriously concerned with what I mean, ask me.
Fuck this passive-aggressive BS.
The title is trending on Twitter! Talk about the best time and article for this to happen. Michael Harriot is getting it DONE.
Same deal with Sanders, he barely knows anything about minorities considering his asinine insistence that black folks should “Respect the police” completely ignoring context.
Because white news reporters are literally color blind but have extra fine perception for beige scale.
He’s nothing more than Log Cabin Republican. And he knows nothing about Black people. And Castro, a superior candidate, who actually understands black people is barely getting any traction.
WTF? Sun tanning assholes? And it’s not a whole person?
higher education is a lonely place as a minority. When I was working on my PhD, I was the only ethnic minority (I am a brown guy, incidentally) in my entire program.
They believed in you and it really speaks to what they saw in you. Look at you now. You have a whole lot of people that are so thankful for you. Keep writing truth to power and we will continue to read, learn, and grow.
Yeah, Newbury comics was exactly who I was referring to when it came to record/comic stores also being funko pop heavy. Newbury has always had things like that though, while Hot Topic did it seems to be almost all FunkoPop now.
I recently went into one for the first time in at least 15 years and was so confused by how different the entire aesthetic was that I had to pause and take about five seconds for my brain to adjust to the fact that yes, it was in fact a Hot Topic and not a Newbury Comics. Which doesn’t really surprise me, just one of…
That’s how I remember her, and I was actually shocked to see her dressed in any other way.
