Thanks! It took a lot for me to get to the point where I’d simply *take* a picture of me, sans makeup, in my swimming garb—let alone post it on the internet. But that’s simply the early stages of not giving a fuck. =D

If you love the books, you OWE it to yourself to watch the Megan Follows adaptation. Seriously, it is perfection. And this is coming from a huge fan of the books.

Every time I watch it and the scene starts with Anne in that sweater, I start sobbing because I know it’s going to end up with Matthew in her arms and I just can’t.

Although the Megan Follows version will always and forever be my favourite (#stillcryingoverJonathanCrombie), I’m more than willing to watch as many faithful adaptations as people are willing to make.

My grandparents met in a Siberian prison camp and got married there, and my grandmother was only 15-16 at the time. So yeah, exactly—very common.

Yes! My husband made it, actually. He takes a mediaeval martial art class (swordfighting, etc.), and they had a class on the weekends where you could construct your own armour. He actually fights in it.

Last year, at 43, I entered my “I don’t give a fuck I’m turning into Stevie Nicks and The Aunts” phase of my life. Which is not to say I don’t care about my appearance, it’s just more that I’m going to wear what pleases me and is comfortable and I don’t give a fuck about people’s opinions on it.

This represents everything that’s wrong about “wedding culture”. The fact that there *is* a wedding culture makes me want to barf. People should be putting that money towards their life together, not one stupid, overdone day.

I am almost 44 years old; I started reading when I was 2. In all of that time, I have never, ever, ever, ever, EVER decided to read (or not read) a book based on a person’s gender, race, etc.

Oh for the love of Pete—it’s “diversify”, not “diversity”. Nearly every Kinja article for the last month or so has had at least one glaring error in it.

I have no idea. I was born in Jersey, grew up in NH, and moved here to Vancouver 13 years ago. =)
