Blame Youtube. They changed their monetization requirements. Every video pretty much has to be 10 minutes or longer to really make any money. I’m starting to get frustrated sitting down to a video to have it be 90% filler to just make it to the 10 minute mark.

Right, the alternator would be providing the electricity, but you’d be plugging your AC charger into the 12v inverter to charge the battery in the cabin.

No one has tried it because there are other factors involved that would make it very hard. For starters, if the engine was slightly behind the centerline of the wheels that would require moving the steering rack to infront of the engine instead of behind the engine as it currently is in ever FWD car thus far. Then you

It looks slick but in the real world, it is needlessly long for anyone who drives and parks in the city. So many new cars seem to have unnecessary overhang. Hell, my girlfriend’s 2018 Accord is longer than my ‘18 4Runner. In fact, the car would probably look cooler if you cut 8" off the front and 4" off the back.

This is what struck me. The numbers are all like “oh, people spent a long time watching Grey’s Anatomy, Friends, and the Office.”. You know what those shows have? A LOT of episodes. Natural breaks that keep the pace breezy. i.e., something you can leave running in the background while you do whatever. Each episode

I clicked only because of the OW! MY BALLS! Idiocracy reference.

In case anybody’s looking for the incident in question in the video, it happens at 5:00.

I’m still amazed GMC exists as its own marque.

I actually really like the way this looks...though I am waiting to see what Genesis does with its SUV offerings. Would like someone to offer a Lexus SUB/crossover ownership experience but with infotainment systems from 2019 and also not incredibly hideous.

+1 ghost of Kia Borregos past

What normal people experience is called “semantic satiation”, what you’re experiencing is some sort of neuroticism that I think you’ll find is unique to yourself and not relatable for everyone else.

Meh.

Hey Look, Kia is introducing a Big Beefy 7 seat suv.  I guess that means it IS time for a recession.

I think you mean XT6 but really this just shows how much Cadillac’s current naming scheme sucks.

This, and the constant bleating about “pumping out big SUV’s instead of sedans” when it’s obvious that modern crossover =/= 00's-era SUV’s and they achieve similar mileage to sedans today.

I think this is something many manufacturers are trying to fix, for example see VW with their current MQB chassis and their upcoming MEB EV chassis. It can be scaled as needed and a lot of the base architecture will be the same whether it’s a Golf-sized vehicle or an Atlas-sized vehicle. So it’s easier (and likely

Well, your thought is wrong. CUVs built on the same platform are nigh identical in efficiency to their same generation sedan counterparts. Even on the extreme end of discrepancy (~10% worse), it’s still a value proposition for the extra utility (perceived or real) and space for a lot of customers (people with kids).

Still more than a Mitsubishi Mirage.

Want to love it. Don’t love it.
