Only problem with Scarlet/Violet is the performance. If they ever get it running better on future hardware, I’d recommend checking them out wholeheartedly. The performance issues definitely hurt the experience but they are still much much better games structurally than the “baby’s first hallway simulator” that was

Mason: “So that’s it? After 13 years, so long, good luck?”

Hate to say it, but this looks like somebody had “A Neat Idea”, and then didn’t go beyond that meaningfully and actually create a polished, engaging game.

I think Starfield differs from those examples because lack of specific features were the biggest issues people had with those games.

It’s really not fine. The exploration in Starfield sucks because the planetary POIs are heavily recycled (due to the scope of the game) and traveling between them is tedious because there’s nothing interesting to see or do on barren planets.

I think Starfield differs from those examples because lack of specific features were the biggest issues people had with those games. People complained about the half-baked police system in Cyberpunk, along with the inability to shoot while driving, the lack of transmog, the lack of car chases, the lack of relationship

The supporting cast in BG3 was indeed killer, my personal favorite being Alfira with her Disney moment song. Fuck, even the animals had more character than most of Bethesda’s main characters.

I’ll allow that BG3 cop out.

I’m going to get a little spoilery, but if we’re going to talk about religious trauma, let’s talk about Lae’zel.

I can’t disagree harder with this. At the risk of making a straw-man argument, the complaint here is that the relationship is shallow, and you can’t get a happy ending, which is what you really want but...that is largely the point. This is a game world where the most in-depth relationship are the ones you form over a

“Gorgeous, Fun and Empty” ... So it’s like an Avatar movie?

This thing was a bloody joke. “For DA day here, have a meaningless trailer with just voiceover teasing a reveal *six months from now.*” That they still have nothing substantial to show is yet another nail in this game’s coffin. That what they *are* showing is a visual clearly thought up during the height of Game of

No pictures of a 3DS either. They even made a special Zelda edition 3DS packaged with a A Link Between Worlds.

At least it’s not all embedded tweets.

glad you felt that way too i was super confused at the screenshots from a different game other than the one being written about.

Wait. You didn’t play the AWE DLC for Control before Alan Wake II? It isn’t, strictly speaking, necessary. But it is so good!

“They’re annoyed at the enormity at which those things happen, often seeming extremely deliberate in it’s attack on “straight white men”

Oh come on. As a straight white man, absolutely none of those stories with female or minority or LGBTQ even remotely feel like an “attack”. You know why? Because I’m a well adjusted

I always thought when the TV exec suggests that the characters on Itchy & Scratchy should be asking, “Where’s Poochie?” whenever he isn’t on screen was just a funny bit of absurdity. But I’m realizing that this was actually meant to placate an audience that genuinely wanted to know where Poochie went.

The original series was about a guy fighting his girlfriends seven evil ex boyfriends who were all given the personalities of pop culture archetypes in video gamesesque battles.

The fiddly bit is that the game literally gives the protagonist more actual romantic chemistry with two guys you can go on multiple dates-in-all-but-name with as part of their social links and not acknowledge that as more than a ‘friendship’ and then turn around and let you sleep with a girl whose Social Link is
