I should clarify that those things help make it feel like FF to me. YMMV of course.

But I agree that change isn’t a bad thing. Ironically enough, I hadn’t been paying that much attention to the game, but that demo has me absolutely HYPED for it now.

Yeah, you can feel a lot of XIV’s influence here. They even did the 16 bit avatars too. This isn’t a bad thing as XIV is one of the best FF games out there.

See, I got the rivalry vibe whenever they were first revealed. And then the internet picked up on it and shipped it. All good fun. They DO make a cute couple after all.

But there’s definitely something more there after going through both their stories. Yeah, there’s a little rivalry there, but they’re pretty obviously…

There’s a good bit of us that had a feeling there was something between them back when they were first revealed. It’s nice to see it basically confirmed. I mean, like you said, they’re literally flirting in their story modes.

It’s not 2020 anymore. Cyberpunk is quite good nowadays. Granted it’s not as great as the hype. But Kotaku will have you believe that it’s still the shitty terrible game it was at launch.

I can agree with a lot of these. Though I’m really surprised MK9 Shao Khan wasn’t mentioned. He literally disregarded the physics of the game whenever he wanted to. And don’t get me started on the final Challenge Tower fight. Goro, Kintaro, Millena, and then Shao Khan. Can we say insane?

I agree. I loved SMW for sure, but I also remember thinking that I had more fun with SMB3. To this day, I generally go back to Mario 3 than Mario World.

Though it has been ages since I played it....

The Sonic movies did a good job. Of course, Sonic is generally more story driven in general, for better or for worse.

Mainline Mario games have never been big on plot and that’s been by design. I don’t know people expected otherwise.

Now when they do a sequel then yeah, we might get some actual plot.
