God, Daya is so obnoxious. Despite thinking they were all equally deserving of having to lip sync for their lives, I was kind of hoping it would be Daya vs. Jasmine and Jasmine would send her ass home.
Willow has excellent taste and she’s also really good at playing the game. Honestly I can’t think of someone who has gone through a standard season as smartly as Willow has - she’s consistently among the top queens of the week but hasn’t racked up wins, she doesn’t seem to stress being ‘safe’, and she’s succeeding in…
This show needs to stop with all these non eliminations it's getting old. If they have to fill more episodes why not just have more queens in the competition.
I loved Angeria’s runway...but it had almost the same silhouette as that gold outfit that she trotted out for “Chaps on the Runway”, so the houndstooth interpretation just didn’t feel as fresh.
They appear to have a terrific time, and it’s an excellent lip sync. Was it worthy of a double shantay? I’m not entirely sure.
those were all really amazing group performances!
I was totally distracted during the Ru-Premes number by how much Lady Camden looked like Tammie Brown.
Loved it. Many of the girls lacked the big naive sweet smiles needed for these groups but nailed the coreo feel. Rupaul elimination felt fair for once in a long while. And Daya is so happy with her villain edit!
Kerri’s outfit and makeup were so unrelentingly repellent that I had to look away on multiple occasions. What?! How?! I’m sure that garment was expensive, but it was both ugly and crafty, and showed a surprising lack of taste. Maybe she found her old Creepy Crawlers oven in the basement and decided that she could turn…
Agreed on the corniness of it, too. I don’t have an issue if they go corny with it, I guess, but there has to be SOMETHING substantive, but there was nothing. The show felt like a shadow of... well, not even its old self, frankly. It felt like a cheaper, crappier version of some other crappier network show that has no…
Well said, I agree completely. That slice of life feel was sorely missing. I don’t watch SVU much but caught the first ten minutes last night and found myself appreciating that for the most part, they still have the classic L&O vibe there.
You’re probably right about how they’re setting up Cosgrove. And/or they’re going to give him a backstory or family life with hardship to make him more sympathetic. He just feels so blah, hopefully they figured out in future episodes how he can better click with Bernard.
The writing was abysmal - particularly for the cop half. The scene in the park or whatever, shortly after Gosgrove roughs up the young black man, and the two detectives talk/argue... the dialogue is so damn clunky. The show also just doesn’t feel like it takes place in a lively city at all. The environments around the…
I felt like they were drawing a distinction between Fontana (who they presented as dirty) and Cosgrove (who they presented as a dick but who wasn’t actually dirty in this episode.)
My five dollar bet is that they’re setting Cosgrove up as an abrasive jerk who’s ultimately a “good apple” (see, for instance, his “phones…
At least Fontana had a sense of humor and that flashy is-this-cop-on-the-take style to make his character more entertaining. Cosgrove is uptight and actively unpleasant so far with no personality to make up for it. I’m also cracking up at the stray observation about his name, although for me I’m annoyed because…
Stupidly intermittent Random ‘pinions:
I rolled my eyes so hard when the farts started. There is nothing funny about fart jokes. It's like are we in elementary school? Happy for Camden though.
I was kind of shocked/not-shocked by the decision not to have a bottom 2. I felt like Angeria was the worst, and I was wondering how they were going to avoid risking sending her home.
