I suppose so. I never got around to it as I didn't like American Gods all that much. I thought the book was much better in the parts that didn't focus on Shadow and remember liking Mr. Nancy well enough. Maybe I should give it a shot.

The Br'er Rabbit stories collected by Joel Chandler Harris were quite popular at the time of their publication and for a generation or so afterwards (and Bugs Bunny is basically based on Br'er Rabbit). They were stories of African origin – many of them are quite similar to Anansi stories – but they are problematic
