There are some UI problems (I'd say slight, but I've been playing Civ games so long that I may have an easier time than some). Diplomacy is still not great which is a shame because a lot of what they do with it seems like a big step forward. But otherwise, I'd say it improves on Civ V in almost every way.
I also really like districts and how much changes in your cities are reflected on the map, wonders slowly getting built over many turns in particular.
