Oh ya, everything else is pretty terrible. A few small school districts already had to close down because they didn’t have enough teachers to operate. But one place figured out how to include masks. The San Antonio can also keep their vaccine mandate with the Pfizer FDA approval.

For small kids, it’s way easier to just tell them keep it on all the time than give places they can/can’t. They also do a horrible job at social distancing, so even outdoors it’s not a bad idea.

My kids have been successfully doing it in Houston the last year and a half. While in the colder months it did feel kinda nice, it’s not nearly as big of a difference maker in the summer months here.

Local government used to fill public swimming pools with cement, in order to keep black people from using the pools. Who suffered... EVERYONE.

Texas also stopped doing contact tracing and aren’t reporting cases anymore. On top of that, there are no longer federal funds for teachers who have to self-quarantine. If a teacher is sick and they decide to get a covid test and it comes back positive, they have to use their personal days to stay home (there are no

It’s hard to have faith in choice if your leadership isn’t going to positively model choice responsibly. Certainly such shittiness works irt abortion for the anti crowd: murder proper modeling for informed choices (sex ed, access to BC, not making doctors lie or exaggerate, assistance for women and their children,

A Dallas school district just added masks to the dress code to legally defy the Texas anti-mask law.

I thought the condensation in the mask during cold weather would make it harder for kids, but haven’t heard a single complaint. And outside play, properly spaced, masks are not required at some schools, but I see kids still wearing them and not slowing them down.

But there’s no data for that, it’s just how people feel.

I lke John Oliver’s description of ingraham and tucker - “tag-team racial panic-goblins.

Nailed it.

Yes that is true that less Black people have received a vaccine. The data is basically showing that Black and Hispanic people are being vaccinated at a slower rate but that rate keeps increasing, while the rate of white people being vaccinated is decreasing. Also unvaccinated Black and Hispanic people are more likely

Well done, so succinct

Glad to hear it, and admire the effort.  I still believe there is benefit in making the effort, I just have no energy to do it or tolerance for their willful ignorance.  Kudos!

Yes, that has worked for me for the past few weeks as well. I noticed after my initial disgust at speaking with friends and family members (over the phone) and finding them vax -averse, I just shake my head, don’t invite them to things and don’t think about them anymore. It has taken my stress levels down significantly

I work with some folks who were hesitant, so I focused on people I care about and/or don’t want to have to replace. Narrowed that number down to a manageable population and kept hammering at it.  It worked.

If I still spoke to these kind of people, this would be good advice.  Unfortunately, for my own mental health, I’ve just accepted that I need to keep my distance from them until they die.

Boy this has been a real roller coaster

Patrick is a racist asshat that is actively doing things that will cause people to get sick and die. He does not care about those people because it will help him get elected.
