Best use of a dog as a character on a team was Person of Interest. Watching that group of anti-social personalities bond while competing for the dog’s affection was one of the most entertaining parts of the show.

Interesting that even Gambi is a product of white power structures that were trying to pacify a black population. His conscience got Jefferson’s father killed, and his guilt over that changed his priorities.

Seriously, you didn’t put in when the Legends were waiting for Sarah get this mission started phrase. Come on how do you not love, “Ok, everyone put on your Sunday best because we are going to church.”

Without the Death Totem guitar, Elvis can’t feel his brother’s spirit and lacks the confidence to play.

WITH the Death Totem guitar, Elvis’ music raises the dead.

So... what was the aberration? Was he supposed to have bought that guitar or not?

Amaya’s background is complicated. She is from the 1940s, but grew up in sub-Saharan Africa & was recruited by the JLA as an adult, so how familiar with American culture of the time she is, is slightly unclear.

When they suggested that Elvis was needed for rock and roll to exist, my first thought was “Wait, did an anomaly take out Chuck Berry?” I wish someone had at least mentioned him, as opposed to the throwaway line about “yeah, I guess black people contributed too.”

I love how Legends makes pre Civil Rights America look so chill. It’s funny but then it’s like really? You’re feeding into that ridiculous claim that America wasn’t racist as hell back in the 50s. I mean come on CW. Interracial couples kissing in the 1950s? You really think they’d be like “aww how cute” hell the

Forget about the influence of blacks on Elvis’ music. How about a little acknowledgement by the show of how African-Americans were treated at the time? The most we got was a little mild consternation about Wally and Amaya’s presence in the church—about what you’d expect if someone were dressed a bit too informally.

Now playing

They can dance anyway. Well, Caity Lotz and Maisie Richardson-Sellers can.

Nate offhandedly referring to Ray as his “best friend” was a nice & earned moment. Their relationship is very sweet and while both can be annoying they sort of bring out the heroic, unselfish best in each other.

When the AV Club inevitably does a list of “best bottle episodes,” I’m going to complain if this isn’t among them.

I already liked Zari, and then the show messed with me a bit by having her be such a pill at the beginning of this episode, but I am so happy with how the overall arc of it had Zari realizing that the team was her family & she loved being friends with them. I especially liked her saying that she was going to absorb

This is when Legends of Tomorrow became my favorite Arrowverse show. This episode was so much fun, not even the fact that it was obviously on a budget brought it down. Zari’s fun montage might’ve been my favorite part of the episode.

to be fair, Sara hasn’t really been in a relationship with anyone since Nyssa. She’s flirted heavily and stuff but I can see her being more coy and conservative if she sees it as being more than just a one-time thing. Plus there was the fact that they started out as antagonists.

I want to point out all of the things that Snart said that Ava was doing to show interest in Sara. Kara has done all of those things to Lena. Those type of coded actions are why people talk about “Supergirl” queerbaiting it’s fans.

I was seriously bummed by that death. Brit Morgan chewed the scenery with as much enthusiasm as Wentworth Miller does as Captain Cold.

I’m baffled about Livewire. Why take an engaging villain - played by a fun actress - build her towards becoming some sort of antihero, and then simply kill her off? We could have spent all season with her, and then see her killed by Reign, for a much better knife in the heart.

I really hoped Joel would leave after the pilot, but I can of see now why it was more realistic to have in this season. I hope he’s just a minor character next season though, but I think one thing that ASP never lets her characters do is move-on-dot-org from their first loves.

I love this show! My husband and I binged the whole thing this past weekend. I agree; Joel is not worthy of Midge in any way. He lied to her about who owned their home, he cheated on her, he has no actual comic writing skill of his own, and when faced with a challenge (bombing on stage, for example) he just calls it

Personally, I think Joel’s arc is over. He doesn’t deserve Midge, and he’s a hack who steals other people’s comedy. He deserves to slink off into the night. Midge should never get back with him, and the series should move on and be about her rise.
