I’m saying that her parents wanted her to live up to the stereotype of the “model minority” and were doing that themselves. They may not have been consciously doing so, but subconsciously having these stereotypes around affects all of us.

Except that simply having that stereotype around can lead to these people thinking they have to live up to that stereotype to be accepted.
