I like Teddy; the actor has great comedic timing and the character is an amusing foil for Jake and Amy.

I also love Boyle's usual understated or easy to miss lines. This episode, "I just hope it grows back before speedo season."

Best ever: "She had a replacement hip with some serious torque. It was like having sex with a transformer."

The way he says "kids, I love you!" cracks me up.

Definitely agree. He gave up his John McClane moment so that Boyle wouldn't be taken. That's huge character growth!

Exactly. She's often pretty clueless about how the things she does will be perceived by others.

I think it has more to do with the whole "Swedish model" idea which is the idea that the country of Sweden is composed entirely of hot, blonde people who are effortlessly good at pretty much anything.

Wait, did he really grow up hot? It wasn't even that long ago, was it? Now I'm gonna have to do some research.

OMG, the cold open where Boyle talks about sleeping with the 68 year old is definitely one of the greatest. I really wonder how much of it was scripted and how much was improv (for Boyle's character). I've noticed it's actually one of the few times (if not the only time) that Jake has actually laughed on the show.

Wow. Well, thanks for that little tidbit. I'm about to buy another mattress and one of their stores is right down the street from me. Guess I'll be looking elsewhere.

I was like, "damn, where's he gonna find a strangler at the last minute?!" and then Boyle said it. I don't know if I should be concerned that I'm thinking like Boyle, but then again, he is my favorite character…

Yeah, I didn't start watching the show shipping the two, but I saw that their flirty banter and feelings came out and I think that they have that chemistry. I agree that the show did a good job of putting them together; it feels like a natural progression. I think that having them get together after two seasons,

Glad to know I'm not the only one who finds these reviews lacking. Maybe she only has time to watch it once before posting the review, but I've found that these reviews completely miss the point often. Don't mean to dig on the reviewer, but some stuff is just basic knowledge for a fan of the show. Anyway…boobs,

Yeah, I thought the point of Jake and Amy's relationship was that they balance each other out. It's not just an "opposites attract" thing, but that they help each other be a bit better overall (without actually engaging in the "I'm trying to change you" tactic). Granted, you don't have to have a romance for that,

It could be a situation where they aren't technically assigned spots, but everyone always parks in the same spot. I would think a captain would have an assigned spot, but maybe not (in TVland).

"The plot also expects the audience to buy that Jake and Amy aren’t really all-in in their relationship"

Yeah, it's nice to have them existing as a couple in the background, but not having to take center stage every week. The last couple of episodes have thrown in a line or two to show that things seem to be going well with Jake and Amy. I think next week's episode will focus on them.
