Given that he and Jaime are my two favorite characters, I say love. But there are reasons to dislike both. Tyrion is at his best in book two, while Jaime really starts to shine in book three.

Meh, skip Snow Crash and read the Cryptonomicon. They're both good, but I think Snow Crash is overrated. The Cryptonomicicon, on the other hand, is sooo good.

Now that you mention it, I haven't read much Asimov either. I keep meaning to read Foundation. Maybe I'll put it next on my list.

Valis. I started it, got about half-way through, realized that I disliked it greatly, and quit, but I still insinuate that I completed it whenever it comes up in conversation. I've read (and loved) lots and lots of PKD, but I really hated Valis. Maybe someday I'll finish it... maybe.

Saving Private Ryan is an awesome first fifteen minutes followed by a plot so thin it should have stayed on paper. Very disappointing film.
