In one or two of the novels (yeah, I know, not canon) it’s implied that the TARDIS itself played a role in the Doctor’s escape, either goading or choosing him. So pre-mindwipe Doctor was issued this top of the line, state of the art Type 40 TARDIS and saves the day over and over again. Until, of course, the mindwipe,

The Division is an alternate name for the Celestial Intervention Agency, the Time Lords’ secret black ops organisation that interferes with other world’s history and development of it suits their purposes. The CIA (ahem) are the guys who kept using the Doctor to interfere with the development of the Daleks, so are

Am I the only one who thought the “visions” were about the last Cyberman? It would have made things more interesting. And what is this Division? Can they explain any more? Was a fun  episode to watch, but too many questions left unanswered. I wish we could get a new showrunner. I’m liking Jodie as the Doctor, but the

The same way Donna Noble appeared in the TARDIS at the end of Doomsday, or some of the other random ways bad guys have popped in over the years...through the incredible power of plot convenience.

Elders are sort of like the Vorta from Star Trek: TOS’ episode “The Devil in the Dark”

Exec #1: I got the rights to this amazing Japanese series that is exploding in popularity right now. We got to make a film while its hot!
Executive #2: Awesome! What is it? Persona? Its got to be Persona right? That would make a great film.
Executive #1: Actually its from Cap...com... I think.
Executive #2: Oh you got Dev

I don’t know, I find this reaction deeply amusing when comparing and contrasting it with the reaction to Star Wars lately.

but i love this show and stopped being mad as soon as hugh and picard saw each other.

Because this Trek is a reflection of our times, which is rather the point of a lot of SciFi.  “Picard” understands how easily we can lose what we’ve fought to gain.

The costumes are neither poor nor cheesy.

Well in that case, this is a terrible Star Trek show then, ain’t it?

Agnes Jurati is the Federation’s leading expert on artificial intelligence. Why is it hard to believe she could reprogram an EMH or alter the sickbay computer logs? Just because she acted scared about operating a transporter? She’s obviously hiding a lot, so we can’t assume that was genuine. I mean, her

so i gotta say, it is just beyond my ability to suspend disbelief that jurati could even do what she did - and get away with it!

See also Picards sendoff to Sisko in the DS9 pilot and then his immediate asshole behavior once Sisko calls his happy smiley ass out on the fact he killed his wife and tens of thousands of others at Wolf 359 and that maybe being a single dad on a distant as hell space station in the middle of a warzone AINT the best

(Spoilers) I honestly thought they were about to do another bait and switch with Soji and kill her off like Dahj, then we see the “hive” of them waiting to be saved by Picard. Seeing how all the people from Picard’s past keep ending up worse than when we found them, I’m getting a real sense of foreboding about him

You’re onto something that hadn’t occurred to me. He didn’t call the painting “My Daughter” — just “Daughter.” Could’ve been a warning.

Funny way of spelling Kira...

I vote for Alexander, son of Worf.

Candidates for Fenris Rangers leader...
