It *might* have impacted on Britain's decision to resist, however. There was a real possibility that Britain may have "made peace" with Germany and essentially demilitarized and been taken out of the war. With that, there's no Western front, and who the hell knows how the War in the East might have played out then…
S4 has Wesley John Wooing-it with two handguns. What more do you want?
It's also got one of, if not *the* best film score in cinema history which is a critical reason why the last 15 minutes in particular works so spectacularly.
I've also read the book a long time ago but Anjelica Huston's head-witch thing in the movie freaked me the hell out as a kid. Nightmares for weeks.
Fine by me as it's not like he's a spring chicken anymore. He's turning 70 next year, which kind of freaks me out.
Was going to comment about how much I love this woman but you beat me to it! Seconded.
I think the main problem with the scene is structural, which is that once you kill Leo and Waltz most of the dramatic tension of the film is gone. However it might have worked if Tarantino didn't self indulgently cast himself in the scene. His acting is, shall we say, "limited" and his attempt at an Australian accent…
Also one of the best "movies about movies".
It's a good film which would have been great if Tarantino had some self restraint. Rewrite the 3rd (4th?) act and cut the absurd sequence where Tarantino himself shows up, and then it would have really been something.
Well…it is Michael Bay's best film. Which, uhh, is certainly a sentence that I have just written.
The American President is a great film, and one of my comfort movies when I need a pick me up. It's just literate and lovely, and Annette Bening is luminous.
Between Amadeus, The Third Man and The Silence Of The Lambs it makes me oddly happy that there are some teenagers getting a good film education. Nice.
Binged all of The Shield. Fantastic show with the best series finale I've ever seen, and it's amazing how much it presaged the "golden age of TV". Breaking Bad in particular, whether or not it was an actual influence, owes a huge debt to The Shield.
Yeah, if the movie is completely terrible at least it looks like an entertaining performance, whether or not it's anything like Luthor "should" be.
Most of the MCU villians aren't like the Joker and all of them except Loki are forgettable. So maybe there's another reason.
I thought the Clark Kent / Bruce scene was decent but the rest looks like the usual Synder action jibberish.
I'd put Notorious in that category, not because it's underrated by film nerds (who love it) but because it's not as widely known as his later, more famous movies (and doesn't seem to be often included in boxsets of his films).
Yeah, though if they did this in Berlin, uhhh… I'm guessing the reaction might have been a bit worse? (considering displaying the Reichstadler publically is illegal…)
Good that your going in with no preconceptions…
