My last three cars have had sunroofs. I hardly ever use it. IMO, sunroofs are a waste of money and headroom. They add weight up high and potential maintenance issues down the road. I would rather not have one.

I'm assuming they’re the only item on the car that is in 100% factory condition. Virtually unused!
I never thought I would be getting a car from $kay.
+1 for the excellent Chappelle GIF.
Basically family and wife want to keep up with the Jones’s. Dad is frugal, he should tell them to STFU and get this CV joints fixed. Wayyy cheaper than buying any of the lack luster appliances recommended by Jalop staff.
Nooo no no no no... I agree with you TOTALLY... EXCEPT that this is a decade plus old Passat. Trust me, as VW owner from this generation, the family may not be just in their opinion, and fixing it is always an option, but it’s a losing battle. Run... let the Passat return to the earth. These VW’s in this era are in a…
You could just save your money and fix the VW 135k is not a super huge amount of miles. Dump some money into fixing its problems, then in a few years give it to the kid, it won’t be so yuck when it’s either this or get a job you freeloading brat and buy your own car. Then go buy yourself a midlife crisis Corvette.
I miss having an old shitty car people hate riding in, it’s the best excuse to not waste gas on them and their poor opinions.
Definitely, Honda has loads of 125 motorcycles in other markets from around $2k, I love the look but $3600 is pretty steep. They’ll still probably sell tons of them.
Please tell me why the breathless headline about a swap that people have been doing for decades?
It’s a street course. The majority of track surface is regular street or parking for Belle Isle (which I believe is a state park). It’s bumpy in general becuase most street courses are. They could reduce a lot of the bumps by resurfacing it but that’s a money pit and bumps and surface flaws are generally accepted as…
Born yesterday much?
What is it supposed to do? Go faster. If you need more explanation than that, I think we are on the wrong website...
The ‘bump’ is a bad excuse if you watch the video he stays on the throttle and loses it.
until a few years ago, you could buy a limping 914 for what a set of Toyota recaps cost. Porsche owners wouldn’t acknowledge they were even a Porsche, heck they were badged vw in Europe. as a vw mechanic from the early 70s, I can attest the type 4 engine was...lacking. having a gm v-8 is a good option, although I lean…
If you have to explain it, its not funny. . . . .
Man, I must be old. I remember looking at getting one of these in the 80's and again in the 90's. There are multiple shops that this is/was the cornerstone of their business (Renegade comes to mind). They’ve always been about 10k.
The look on Patrick George’s face knowing his Camaro crash has been knocked down a notch on the list of worst GM street car crashes at Belle Isle:
People like to view the 914 with rose tinted glasses. They were badly built, rattly tiny cars with other than the rare six, grossly under powered engines with issues. A new high powered motor is an improvement.
What car do you send out when the Pace Car crashes?
