Problem is the energy density of the fuel required to power it. That electric motor requires batteries that are going to have an energy density of 0.5-1.5MJ/kg. Diesel fuel has an energy density of about 45MJ/kg. So you might be getting the same hp output out of half the weight, but you’re also carrying 30x as much…
