"Suzanne’s brain is fun"
Yes, and she was reading Samuel R Delany's "Dhalgren" which is a wildly challenging non-linear novel. Impressive!
"Jurassic Bark" and "Lethal Inspection" (with Bender and Hermes) are possibly the only times I've cried watching a cartoon, except possibly Bambi.
I meant that they're not convincing in their roles. In scenes where they need to show affection for each other, it seems strained and forced. In fact, the only scenes where affection is convincing are those between Waterson and Tomlin.
Why yes, but I found a solution.

Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are amazing, but Waterson and Sheen are not convincing gays. The grown-up kids in the show are throw-away characters very little to offer the plot. Quite disappointed!
I think you should subtract a full letter grade whenever there are two story lines that have zero overlap, and by overlap I mean where the characters interact in the same scene. Despite the slim theme of "motherhood" this seemed like two distinctly weak episodes cut together. It's just lazy writing.
