I'm with Telus Mobility in Canada. There is no option to turn off the instructions in the Voicemail options. I checked everything. Thanks though. I haven't tried 1*# yet, although I suspect it won't work.
@Shadowman615: well think about it this way, if both you and I are on the same carrier and I call you and get your voicemail, I have to waste my minutes listening to the long instructions.

regarding saving money on gas. one of the members of the parliament in canada has his own site where he posts future gas prices:
in ontario, canada, most groceries stores no longer give out plastic bags. You either have to bring your own bags, or you can purchase their new fabric re-usable bags for 99cents each. If you want a plastic bag, they charge you 5cents. I believe it's a law now.
All you need is fire extinguisher, a scuba back-plate, a motorcycle helmet, a human brain, 3oz of sheep's blood, a piece of moon rock, and a 3 mile-long piece of sheet metal. With all of this we'll make a water pistol that barely shoots 20 feet.
Flexible Joints Camera Tripod... under $5 ... free shipping...
