We don’t get a plurality from the electoral college by accident. Republican electors will know whether or not they have enough to force it to the House, and will know if the GOP is close to having enough states in the House, before the electoral college votes. If there’s one thing Republican politicians have done

It’s not a secret ballot. They’ll caucus. And Republican politicians didn’t suddenly get stupid. They’re not going to split themselves and allow a Democratic minority to claim the vote for their state. They’d rather have the Republican they don’t like than any Democrat. This was made crystal clear by the number of

The difference between the overhead bins and the underseat space is that with the latter you can’t cheat nearly as much. Height and width are non-negotiable, leaving only length to cheat — and you know flight attendants who spot your trip-over-it bag are going to tell you it’s unsafe and charge you to put it overhead.

Theoretically 270 of Trump’s electors could agree on some other Republican — Jeb! — and keep it from going to the House.

No, technically, the top three in electoral college votes.

It is your problem. You don’t get to choose which issues affect society.

But they’re going to do it. As Snoopy once said, we’re not playing should’ves.

Forgot I’d made this comment twice.

Correction: the House can pick from the top 3 EC vote-getters for President — so just enough Trump defectors to deny him 270 will let the House choose another Republican. But such defiance of their constituents is unlikely.

Yes — a vote for any “third” candidate is essentially an abstention that puts Trump in the White House. Either he still gets 270 or it goes to the House to pick from the top 2 EC choices, and they’ll pick him.

If nobody gets 270, the House picks the President from the top 2 choices. They’ll pick Trump. So any EC vote other than Clinton is a vote for Trump.

And Jezebel would have called them on any of those dogwhistles, because what started this isn’t what they said about their movie but the way the trailer for a period piece in China featured a white guy.

You don’t get people in the white bubble to come see your movie by saying “the main reason Matt Damon’s in this movie is to get people prejudiced against Chinese movies to come see it.” The white bubble will stay away from your movie and double down with some kind of reverse racism argument.

“...so so desperate to believe in this made-up nonsense...”

You’ll understand when you’re older.

I don’t know about you, but I’m too used to living comfortably to be pushed far enough for any of that firing squad and torture business to be necessary. I’ll read scary shit like this article and cower in my apartment thankful that I still have a job that keeps me fed and in said apartment with multiple sources of

The President doesn’t need to sue. He has the FBI, Homeland Security, the IRS, and an army of alt-rite turdburglars hanging on his every word.

The real question is: will he stick to lawsuits when he’s empowered with other options?

What’s in it for our media to grow a pair and start taking these idiots to task on everything? Losing even more of their audience, that’s what.

If somebody blows up a section of a pipeline, you’re darn tootin’ the word of the day will be ecoterrorist, and almost everyone will gulp it down and ask for more.
