The problem is that Viper wasn’t built to cost a lot more.

A lot of people can’t hack anything that isn’t a literal live-action story with a likable reliable narrator protagonist who wins in a clear ending. Then on top of that some people redline genres whose conventions are disagreeable. It can be a real drag.
But it makes conversations so awkward!
The beard exists so that when they then appear clean-shaven you know they’re ready to kick some ass.
Those who think it’s tedious obviously disagree, and describing it as woven very artfully into the story won’t change that.
The people who believe it’s way too big and does way too much and should mostly vanish and leave things to capitalism and charity to sort out.
Upstream Color and Super are on my list of great unrecommendable movies. You have to know someone really well (or be anonymous) before you can bring them up. I think about half of my most-favorite flicks are like this.
But how did it make you feel as you watched it, and when the credits rolled?
I like Inception, but it requires repeated buys of exposition-dumped premise, and for some that’s just tedious.
These are the 25 best films of the 21st century according to film critics around the globe, and where you can watch them for yourself.
Yeah, but how many bankruptcies has she come back from?
Robotech is a bigger continuity.
The computer won’t stop at “doctor,” it’ll be looking up specific calculated value to society of the individual.
Not Robotech canon! ;) The re-release is known to have added footage. Check out the original ADV DVD release. Or the videotapes you recorded from the original airing.
They show the faces of the deck crew looking into the cockpit. They never give the reverse shot. Cut straight to the guitar in Roy’s lap as he’s sitting on Claudia’s couch. When he collapses it’s toward camera. Cut to his death bed. Not a drop of blood.
IIRC we never actually see what they see in his cockpit; it was probably damage, not blood. He could have been struck by shrapnel and it was internal bleeding that did him in. Maybe he knew he was a goner and wasn’t going to die in a hospital. Macho asshole.
What a brilliant mistake, on the level of New Coke.
Roy Fokker’s death was so mundane. So preventable. So maddening.
Update sentencing guidelines, make it clear that impact to the convict’s life should not be considered above that of the victim, that willfully impaired judgement is not a mitigating circumstance, and “upstanding member of the community” needs to be more than “grew up privileged and acts accordingly.”
What if you built a racist-proof fence? I’m sure you can get us to pay for it.
